Now Accepting Registration for School Year 2012 – 2013
The Ridgewood Nursery School & Kindergarten is now accepting registration for the 2012-2013 school year. The school, founded in 1935, is one of Ridgewood’s most prestigious. We are a private pre-school & kindergarten; staffed by dedicated, professionally trained and certified teachers licensed by the State of New Jersey. We are conveniently located at the Glen School on 865 East Glen Avenue in Ridgewood. Our location allows for a safe and easy pick-up-drop-off for both parents and children.
The pre-school and certified kindergarten programs offer a warm and caring environment for toilet trained children ages 2 years 9 months to age 5. The school offers a wide variety of programs that nurtures children’s innate curiosity and lays the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. As they construct, imagine, experiment, share and socialize with other children and adults, they are developing the skills needed to become independent, intellectually and socially competent individuals. Our school believes that teachers, children, and parents all play important roles in the educational process.
Flexible hours are available at the Ridgewood Nursery School with an extended day from 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM, a full day from 9:15 AM – 3:45 PM, or a half-day from 9:15 AM – 11:45 AM. Children enrolled in the pre-school program may attend three, four or five days a week. The Bergen County approved kindergarten follows an academic curriculum requiring a minimum of five mornings a week. Afternoon sessions are also available to children attending morning kindergarten at other area schools. Encouraging and promoting the desire to learn is a natural gift of childhood, it is the keystone of achieving academic excellence, confidence, creative problem solving skills. The use of music, rhythm and participation in our annual school play helps children experience a rich sensory environment. Social empathy combined with learning is the goal at Ridgewood Nursery School. Our large classrooms are bright, secure and equipped with a wide variety of materials and art supplies. Our outdoor activities include a custom designed play area.
